For patients with PAH, delivery matters

Treprostinil is an established prostacyclin pathway therapy for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Current delivery approaches can impose a significant burden on patients, including needle-based administration, frequent dosing, inhalation devices, pumps, and treatment-limiting tolerability issues. Corsair is focused on developing a once-daily transdermal patch intended to provide a more practical approach to treprostinil delivery.

Prodrug-enabled design

A treprostinil prodrug approach designed to facilitate transdermal delivery through the skin and into systemic circulation.

Once-daily patch delivery

A passive, needle-free transdermal system designed for once-daily treprostinil delivery.

Steady and continuous exposure

Initial Phase 1 results demonstrated steady and continuous treprostinil blood levels with acceptable tolerability over a 24-hour wear period.

Prodrug chemistry meets patch delivery

The TRX-248 Transdermal System combines a proprietary treprostinil prodrug with a proprietary transdermal patch formulation. This integrated approach is designed to provide steady and continuous treprostinil exposure over 24 hours without needles, pumps, or inhalation devices. The patch delivers the inactive prodrug, which crosses the skin and enters the bloodstream before being converted to active treprostinil by the liver.

Initial Phase 1 clinical data support continued development

In a Phase 1 clinical trial involving healthy volunteers, the TRX-248 Transdermal System rapidly achieved steady and continuous treprostinil blood levels during 24-hour patch wear, followed by rapidly declining plasma concentrations after patch removal. The study also supported dose proportionality across the patch sizes evaluated. TRX-248 Transdermal System was generally well tolerated in the study, with findings that supported continued clinical development

A team built around transdermal delivery innovation
